Pagers, also known as beepers, were once a widely used communication device before the advent of smartphones. These one-way devices received short messages—typically composed of numbers or letters—via radio waves.
When a message arrived, the pager would vibrate or beep to alert the user, who would then check the screen to read the message. Pagers were especially popular among professionals who needed to be reachable at all times, such as doctors, on-call staff, and delivery drivers.
Although they are not as prevalent today, pagers are still utilized in certain fields, like healthcare and emergency services, where reliability and coverage remain essential.
